Just beautiful... Jan 27, 2010

Amazon has a strange way of rating. I gave this doll 2 stars for durability and educational value because it is not designed to be played with by children. Perhaps older children, but personally I would not give a doll like this to a child younger than 12. (The silkstone Barbie dolls, while somewhat durable, are not as flexable as regular barbie dolls, the material is quite rigid and more inclined to break under preasure. They are described as being "similar to porcelain", but I would not go as far as to say that.)
It is a simply stunning doll. The pictures do not do it any justice, even other pictures I have seen on the web. The doll has some beautiful little details, such as little gold buttons on her cardigan and a broach at her neck. The belt and stockings as well as the little secretary accessories are also really elegant touches. I was so pleased with this doll, moreso than I thought I would be.
If you are a collector, this doll is definitely worth investing in. A treasure at such a low price.

I recently started back collecting the Silkstone Barbies, this doll was an excellent bargain and was packaged beautifully. The doll arrived quickly and I am very pleased. I look forward to finding more deals.
